A | (ECNS) -- Humanoid robots, automated sorting systems, and autonomous delivery vehicles are being widely used across China’s express delivery sector, from sorting centers to last-mile delivery. At a mail processing center in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, humanoid robots sort parcels alongside robotic arms and autonomous forklifts. The center handles more than seven million mail items a day, with robotic arms processing up to 1,200 items per hour during peak periods. A three-dimensional sorting system developed by a Guangzhou-based company can process between 8,000 and 20,000 items per hour, boosting efficiency by roughly fivefold while reducing floor-space requirements by about 50%. In Foshan, autonomous vehicles are being used to move parcels, fresh food and bulky goods between delivery outlets, community collection points and local businesses. At one electric two-wheeler retailer, the service has cut logistics costs for transfers between stores by 60%. At a smart logistics facility in Quanzhou, east China's Fujian Province, more than 100 mobile robots shuttle goods through the warehouse. A newly introduced storage system can handle up to 2,637 bins per hour. (By Intern Yang Hongran, Zhang Dongfang)
